Oak Forest HS Collected Toys for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation
Students collected over 2,000 toys

Oak Forest High School students Liam Weaver, Rachel Greenhill, Jade Bronkala, Cassie Greenhill, pose behind the mounds of toys collected to support the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation in the toy drive that ran at Oak Forest High School through December 11. This year, students collected well beyond 2,000 toys (the largest collection in OFHS’s history) and helped to build toy chests in many locations, including Hope Children’s Hospital, according to Oak Forest High School teacher Ken Valiska. Since the toy drive began in 2003, Oak Forest High School has remained the top leader in toy donations for this cause. The Oak Forest High School Snowball Club, led by Ken Valiska, and Rotary-Interact Club, led by Brian McDonough, spearheaded the toy drive. OFHS alum Erica Bergstrom as well as Santa, Jimmy Bryson and Mrs. Claus, Margaret Bryson, also assisted with the project.
