Oak Forest High School American and World Cuisine class recently had a chili cook-off and one team was crowned as the chili champions of the school. Junior Rudy Fabian, Sophomore Ryan Walsh, and Junior Herb Sommer were the victorious champions.
Although the team will not divulge the exact recipe they used to make their chili the supreme chili of Oak Forest High School, they did say that it was their spice blend that provided all of the magic. Ryan Walsh said, “It was chili powder, oregano, and jalapenos.” The team remained mum about the proportions of these spices, saying that it was a trade secret.
Herb Sommer said, “Our chili was amazing. It was a perfect balance of heat and creaminess.”

Oak Forest High School teacher Ms. Vicky Vogel was their chili coach and the impartial chili judge was Oak Forest High School teacher Mr. Mark Furstenau.
