Oak Forest HS Culinary Student Demonstrates at Farmer's Market

Oak Forest High School Culinary Student Micah Furstenau Prepares Vegetable Trays at Farmer's Market

Oak Forest High School Culinary Student Micah Furstenau and Oak Forest High School Family and Consumer Arts Teacher Vicky Vogel were invited to the Oak Forest Farmer’s Market last Saturday to demonstrate creating veggie trays to entice the public into purchasing vegetables from the market for their own tables. Furstenau used vegetables from the market and Pampered Chef equipment in order to create the veggie trays. In the end, Furstenau was successful at promoting the Farmer’s Market wares because the farmers reported that they had sold out of their vegetable stock. All proceeds from the sale of the veggie trays went to the Oak Forest High School Academic Booster Committee, led by Oak Forest High School teacher Kristy Hazzard-Collins.
