Funds raised were donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Congratulations to Mrs. Fahey and Ms. Marovich’s co-taught English class, who raised over $180 for the Pennies for Patients Key Club’s fundraiser to go directly toward children diagnosed with Leukemia and Lymphoma. Nick Zavala, Gabby Romero, Justin Banaszak, Andrew Houser-Richerme, Tyler Stulgis, Andy Marcheschi, Abby Smith, RhiAnna Dunn, Ethen Otstott, John Moore, Kayla Binion, Yazeed Salah, Briana Fei, Brian Kuenster, Jacob Pabon, Madison Cline-Laycoax, Ricardo Santiago, Trevor Dinsmore, Milton Medina and (not pictured) Joshua Wright worked hard to earn money to donate for the cause. OFHS Key Club Sponsor Gary Andruch said that there were incentives put forth for the class that raised the most money. He said, “This year was the tightest race ever. It was just about a draw for 2nd place too with Mrs Schanz’s and Mrs. Genardo’s classes both raised over $100 each.” The Key Club raised over $800 this year thanks to the generosity of the students and staff of Oak Forest High School to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The OFHS Key Club teamed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for a clever campaign called “ BE A PATIENT’S LUCKY CHARM/PENNIES FOR PATIENTS.” They placed collection box in each participating classroom and asked that 2nd hour classes become involved in this great cause. Overall, students were emptying out their pockets to help.
