Oak Forest HS Key Club Collects Stuffed Animals
The stuffed animals were collected for a Columbia medical mission trip

Oak Forest High School Key Club members (l to r) Kelcey Kelderhouse, Madison Cline-Laycoax, Katherine Holewa, Luke Holewa, Kyle Neylon, Al Rivas, and Darla Thomas display stuffed animals collected for a service project to support a Columbia medical mission trip.
The Oak Forest High School Key Club members were collecting toys as a service project for a medical team who travels to Colombia, South America, twice a year to perform surgeries on children who were born with physical deformities. During the recovery process after the medical procedure, children are given a stuffed animal to comfort them.
One of the members of this medical team is OFHS ’04 alumna Diana (Pinto) Penn, who travels with the medical team as a nurse.

Diana is the one who reached out to OFHS Key Club Sponsor Gary Andruch and asked if the Key Club would be interested in helping them collect some much needed stuffed animals that could be used throughout the holiday season. The Oak Forest High School Key Club members worked very hard to collect toys for this worthy cause.
The Key Club is sponsored by teacher Gary Andruch. Mr. Andruch said, “For more information about the medical trips Dina (Pinto) Penn makes, see the incredible before and after transformations of their patients, look at the following link: https://replayapp.com/v/Lsqw8dRBLs/ .”
