Oak Forest HS Mathletes Take 2nd at SSC Conference Finals

Oak Forest High School Mathletes Coach Sue Poncin announced that the Bengal Mathletes finished a close second in SSC Blue Conference finals held on December 6 at Lemont High School. The Bengal Mathletes did well in their individual competitions and scored the conference championship in their individual events. The Junior Right Triangle Group of Carter Hamrin, Vincent Sifuentez, Niamh Haran, Nick Herron, Justin Meline, E.J. Broniarcyk scored well as did the Junior Algebra 2 Group of Carter Hamrin, Niamh Haran, Nick Herron, Emily Moffit, and E.J. Broniarcyk. Also earning a championship in their events were Junior/Senior Oralists Ryan Jerkins and Megan O'Keefe and Fresh/Soph Oralists Antoinette Anchinges and Canyon Novick. A special congratulations goes to Senior Faith Skrzelowski and Juniors E.J. Broniarcyk and Nick Herron, who completed perfect papers. The Mathletes team is headed by Head Coach Sue Poncin, and Assistant Coaches Mel Gengo and Ken Valiska. Great job Mathletes - we are proud of you!!!
