Oak Forest HS Music Department Celebrates 'Sounds of the Season'

The band and choir concert was a wonderful evening of holiday music

The Oak Forest High School Music Department celebrated the “Sounds of the Season” at a recent concert. The Music Department teamed up to deliver a wonderful evening of holiday music. From “12 Days of Christmas,” “Up on the Housetop,” to “Christmas Song,” and “Coventry Carol,” many old standards were played to the crowd’s enjoyment. Each band and choir performed a few songs individually, then as a mass band or choir. At the end of the evening the whole Music Department presented a triumphant “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Oak Forest High School Director of Bands Nick Rojek enjoyed the evening. He said, “The kids did a phenomenal job. It really showcased their hard work this semester. We hope this evening of music brings the true spirit of the holidays to the very supportive fine arts families as they start their winter holiday.”

Oak Forest High School Choral Director Victor Pazik said, “We had a packed house for an amazing concert by both the band and choir. The musicality, professionalism and quality by all groups was very impressive. Congratulations to our students! Great job!”
