Oak Forest HS Music Department Wins Big at IHSA Contest

Choirs and bands received Division One and Division Two Ratings

The Oak Forest High School Music Department recently participated in the Annual Illinois High School All-State Band and Choral Organizational Competition. The Choral program scored very well in the organizational concert. Both the Concert Choir and the Advanced Senior Treble Choir received a Division One rating and the Cadet Choir received a Division Two rating. According to Choral Director Victor Pazik, “All three choirs received high accolades for their outstanding performances, some of the top performances of the day.”

The bands at Oak Forest High School received straight Division One ratings at the IHSA Organizational performance for the seventh year in a row. With the tough judging during Friday night’s Jazz performances, according to Band Director Nick Rojek, the OFHS Jazz Ensemble received some of the highest scores of the day. The Concert and Symphonic Bands received the highest marks ever from all three judges, all scoring the band at less than a point away from perfect.
