Oak Forest High School National Honor Society (NHS) Sponsor Kelly Henry announced that the NHS inducted 80 new members at a special induction ceremony held Wednesday, October 14 at Gaelic Park. The ceremony included remarks by National Honor Society President Marley Majetic about the Four Goals of the National Honor Society. The First Vice-President Jenna Beardsley talked about scholarship, the Second Vice-President Aya Hasan spoke about service, Secretary Jillian Moss spoke about leadership, and Treasurer Madison Hamrin spoke about character. Principal Sikora and Assistant Principal Mladenovich guided the candle lighting ceremony and presented the honorees with National Honor Society pins and membership cards. Reverend David Mensing was the honored Keynote speaker at the ceremony and his speech focused on character, one of the four pillars of the NHS. Rev. Mensing is a District 228 graduate, the former Board Secretary, a teacher, and a Fullbright Scholar. Present at the ceremony to congratulate the inductees were Board Secretary Mrs. Kim Kampwirth and Board Member Mrs. Leslie Jones.
