Oak Forest HS Poms Win SSC Championship

This is the third time in four years that the Varsity Dance Team won their SSC Championship title

Congratulations to the Oak Forest High School Varsity & Junior Varsity Pom Teams for taking home the first place prizes from the South Suburban Conference competition at Eisenhower High School. This is the third time in four years that the Varsity Pom Dance Team has won their SSC Championship Title. The Pom Dance Team placed first out of seven within the SSC Blue Division and also received the “All-Conference” Title, placing 1st out of 14 teams across both the Blue and Red Divisions. Last year, the Varsity Pom Dance Team was an IHSA State Finalist, placing 7th overall in the state of Illinois in Competitive Dance. This year’s IHSA Dance Sectional Competition is held this upcoming Saturday, January 23 at Andrew High School. There, the OFHS Pom Dance Team hopes of qualifying for the IHSA Competitive Dance State Series held in Bloomington, Illinois for the fourth season in a row. The OFHS Varsity Pom Dance Team has five 2015-16 All-Conference Athletes: Jenna Beardsley, Jennifer Colander, Paige Ignatowicz, Karly Kammerer, and Bailey Kessler. In addition to the Varsity success, the JV team also took 1st in the Blue Division and are now overall SSC JV Conference Champions for the fourth consecutive season.
