Oak Forest HS to Present 'Little Shop of Horrors'
The popular musical will be performed April 22-24
Oak Forest High School's Cast of “Little Shop of Horrors” performed the song “Skid Row” for students at a recent assembly. This is one of the show stopping scenes that populate the wildly popular musical that will be performed April 22 and 23 at 7 pm and April 24 at 2 pm at Oak Forest High School. The play is centered around meek flower shop assistant Seymour (played by Senior Al Joritz) who pines for co-worker Audrey (played by Senior Emily Cooper). During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey's boyfriend, Orin (played by Senior Danny Deane), to the plant after Orin's accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the increasingly bloodthirsty plant.
The musical numbers are in the style of Motown and are very catchy. Along with “Skid Row,” you will hum or perhaps sing along with other numbers such as “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Somewhere That’s Green,” “Feed Me (Git it),” “Suddenly Seymour,” and “Suppertime.” You can look forward to the talented cast presenting “Little Shop of Horrors.” Additional cast members not listed above are: Shane Bednarek (Mr. Mushnik), David Kozak (Wino #1, Voice of the Plant Audrey II), Jessica Weaver (Radio Announcer), Bre Horvath (Ms. Bernstein), Tessa Damien (Mrs. Luce), Emily Marcheschi (Skip Snip), Danny Dean (Patrick Martin, Customer #1). The Chorus members are: Tessa Damien, Tess Novick, Bre Horvath, Emily Marcheschi, Jackie Griffin, Victoria Rice, Sherelyn Saceda, and Camille Glen.
