The Oak Forest High School Music Department will present its Madrigal Feast December 7 at 6:30 p.m. and December 8 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are not sold at the door.
The Madrigal is one of the most enduring musical forms in all history. The Madrigal found favor with the Italian noble class in the 16th century. Eventually, the Madrigal found its way to England, where the English put their touch on the form. All members of the English nobility were required to have musical training and often performed Madrigal songs at court.
The Madrigal is directed by Choral Director Mr. Victor Pazik. Also, Band Director Mr. Nick Rojek directs the brass ensemble, Mrs. Cheryl Harris-Sumida wrote and will direct the dramatic portion of the evening, and Mr. Dan Chambers will direct the technical aspects of the evening.
