Oak Forest HS Regains D228 Strength Conditioning Trophy
Students competed in the parallel squat, power clear bench press, and cardio endurance test

The Oak Forest High School Bengals won this year’s District 228 Lifting Competition, which was held April 24 at Oak Forest High School. This is the first time in nine years that the Bengals have brought the trophy home.
To be considered to be part of the OFHS strength team, students have to be a junior or senior, enrolled in the Strength and Conditioning class, and had to qualify and compete against other Oak Forest students to earn a spot on the team. Students competed in the parallel squat, power clear bench press, and the PACER (cardio endurance test). There are four weight classes for boys and four weight classes for girls. Each student can compete in up to two activities.
“Our students lifted and ran against the strongest, best conditioned qualifiers from Tinley, Bremen and Hillcrest High Schools. We were most proud of the awesome sportsmanship and stellar behaviors our students displayed the entire day. What a great day to be a Bengal!” said OF Coach Katie Campbell. Oak Forest High School teacher Bucky Randolph also coached the team.
