Oak Forest HS Sees the Dangers of Distracted Driving

Operation Teen Safe Driving Program "5 to Drive"

Oak Forest High School students have had the sobering experience of driving into the school parking lot this week and seeing a mangled car on the lawn. The mangled car represents a car that has been in an accident as a result of a teenaged distracted driver. Oak Forest High School is participating in the Operation Teen Safe Driving Program under the slogan “5 to Drive.” According to the program director, Oak Forest High School Associate Principal Dan Dunne, “5 to Drive” refers to the five safe driving habits: no cell phones, buckle up, no alcohol, no speeding, and no extra passengers, which are habits that teens should avoid while in a car.
