Oak Forest HS Sophomore Class Service Project a Big Hit

Students assisted Gigi's Playhouse with a carnival

Oak Forest High School Sophomore Class Council members Karly Moss, Emily Hausherr, Stephen Crosetto, Emily Moffit, Emily Berducci, and Peyton Nielsen helped with the Sophomore Class Service Project Carnival at Zion Lutheran Church in Tinley Park on March 21, National Downs Syndrome Day.

In order to effectively tap into creativity and promote leadership within the class council, Sophomore Class Council Sponsor Kristy Collins had students choose a project. Collins said, “After careful consideration, students were highly motivated and empathetic because they selected this project on their own from their Class Secretary Stephen Crosetto’s suggestion.” As a project, they selected to assist the Tinley Park Gigi’s Playhouse with a carnival, held at Zion Lutheran Church in Tinley Park.

President Karly Moss organized the logistics. Sophomore class council members jumped in the fun and helped Gigi’s Playhouse put together games, helped run the carnival games, and helped give away prizes to students with Down's Syndrome and community families who help support Gigi's Playhouse.
