Oak Forest HS Student Council Hosts Jeans Drive
Donate gently used jeans to Oak Forest HS by February 13
Oak Forest High School is full of students who are thinking of others this winter. As a result, the Student Council is hosting a Jeans Drive through February 13. Oak Forest High School Student Council President Jessy Sandoval said, “It is our intention to help out people who need help. It’s super cold out and we want people to be warm. We are lucky to have so much and we want to give back to others who don’t have as much.”
The jeans that are collected are going to be shared among several homeless shelters in the south suburbs, according to Student Council Sponsor Amy Bertrand. “We are trying to look for ways to incorporate more service projects into our Student Council activities. Collecting jeans is one we felt our school could rally around—all kids should have decent and warm jeans to wear. We want to make a difference in our community,” Bertrand said.
If you have gently used jeans and you would like to donate them at Oak Forest High School, you can bring them during school hours to the donation box in the main foyer by February 13. Please contact Student Council Sponsor Amy Bertrand at abertrand@bhsd228.com if you have any questions.
