Oak Forest HS Students Participate in Be a Patient's Lucky Charm/Pennies for Patients Contest

Students raised over $700 to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Oak Forest High School Juniors Jujuanna Marks and Gena Valentine count pennies collected from classrooms that were participating in the “Be a Patient’s Lucky Charm/Pennies for Patients” contest which benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma society.

The contest was sponsored by the Oak Forest High School Key Club. In the contest, each 2nd hour class got a collection box where students could deposit pennies. Whichever class deposited the most pennies won their choice of donuts or a pizza party!

As a school, the students raised over $700 in this contest to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Key Club Sponsor Gary Andruch was thrilled with the student support of the contest. “We had around seven classes that really stepped up their game and raised a lot of money.”
