Oak Forest HS Students Participate in Marshmellow Challenge

Team building exercise has hilarious results

Oak Forest High School Business classes recently participated in The Marshmallow Challenge team building exercise. Students were challenged to collaborate, innovate, and be creative as they accomplished the task of building a tall, free standing structure out of 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string, and one marshmallow. The marshmallow needed to be on the top of the structure.

Students in Ms. Katie Gomez’s classes and Ms. Connie McSweeney’s class struggled to accomplish the task with hilarious results. Jack Gaffney and Jake Griffin won the Marshmallow Challenge in Ms. Gomez’s 4th period class; Jimmy Christian, Alyssa Kolecki, and Anthony Guiseffi won in 6th period class; and Jodi Bushnell-Aleman, Mireya Gutierrez, Rebecca McGrail, and Claire Holewa won in Ms. McSweeney’s class.
