Oak Forest HS Students Spread Holiday Cheer at Ingalls Hospital

This is the 20th year the OFHS Ecology Club has gone caroling at the hospital

Oak Forest High School Ecology Club students Joseph Glaubitz, Nick Alexander, Madeline Tancredi, Abby Hogan, Mekayla Mrofka, Madison Hayes, Agustin Tilca, and Adviser Dawn Sasek brought a little joy and cheer of the holiday season to Ingalls Hospital in Harvey. This is the OFHS Ecology Club’s 20th year of Christmas caroling at Ingalls Hospital. The students, dressed in their holiday Santa hats and reindeer ears, caroled for the pediatric floor. OFHS Sophomore Mekayla Mrofka said, “The caroling was mainly to make patients happy and to make them feel good.” During this time of year, it is hard to be separated from one’s family and the OFHS Ecology Club tried to keep patients’ spirits up. Ecology Club students gave patients crosswords and puzzles to do as they recuperate in the hospital. “We had fun,” Mrofka said. “It was a really good time.”
