Oak Forest HS Students Train for CPR and First Aid Certification
Students in Childcare II and FCCLA classes earned certification

Oak Forest High School Senior Damini Patel (left) blows life-giving air into the lungs of her practice CPR dummy while Senior Kermi Patel (right) practices chest compressions on her CPR dummy. Both girls are practicing the steps one should take in the order they should be taken when performing CPR on a person.
Damini and Kermi were a part of an Oak Forest High School training workshop in which students from Childcare II classes and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) classes were trained on how to do CPR on adults and children, and also how to administer First Aid. The purpose of this training is to have the students earn their certificates of completion for CPR Training and First Aid Training which last for two years.
Students in the FCCLA class are taught by Kristina Blair and the students in the Childcare II class are taught Mark Furstenau. Both Blair and Furstenau are certified CPR and First Aid Instructors which qualifies them to train students for their certification.
Students who earned their CPR and First Aid certification were: Laney Barrett, Emma Boswell, Kiera Chandler, Nickoya Clark, Brooke Davis, Gabrielle Flick, Madeline Furstenau, Haley Gustafson, Madelyn Hunt, Meredith Kucharski, Aneshay Nowden, Lesly Palafox, Fuad Rafidi, Amanda Seeber, Kendall Sleeman, Rachel Solis, Ashley Suchy, Brittany Suchy, Melissa Weber, Jessica Andriola, Kayla Bentivenga, Alyssa D’Angelo, Richard Echeverria, Damien Lauder, Vitalina Olivo, Alondra Padilla, Damini Patel, Kirmi Patel, Cole Silha, Jizelle Urbina, and Kerri Werniak.
