Oak Forest HS Students Visit SSC

Students learned about all the courses and programs that South Suburban College has to offer

Oak Forest High School students recently toured South Suburban College, visiting several classes and taking in college life. Students visited the Criminal Justice, Court Reporting, and Manufacturing classes. According to Oak Forest High School Counselor Kelly Henry, “Each year, SSC hosts a day for the juniors and seniors in our district to promote the programs that SSC has to offer.” This is a way to introduce students to the college and see everything that is offered and how they can use the classes and programs to get a college degree. Part of the fun of this trip is seeing how an actual college class is run and learning about the different careers and see college students and teachers in action. Students who participated in the trip are: Jessica Marks, Jujanna Marks, Jessica Mack, Jamie Mack, John Paras, Komal Sheikh, Maha Sheikh, Tahreem Amir, Mays Hussein, Oak Forest High School Counselor Kelly Henry, Moshood Ashogbon, Omari Judkins, Diamond Perkins, Tristan Edge, Miguel Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Holly Holtam, Nouraddin Abboud, Courtney O’Connell, Jehad Shaikh-Ali, Drashti Patel, Jon Lazaro, Josh Shanklin, and Samuel Vainisi.
