Oak Forest HS Volleyball Hosts 'Volley for the Cure' Night
Annual event raises money to help fight breast cancer

On October 16, the Oak Forest High School Volleyball Team hosted their Annual Volley for the Cure Night, during the freshman, sophomore and varsity games. Oak Forest High School and their competitors, TF South High School, teamed up to fight against breast cancer.
Volley for the Cure was created as a way to honor and celebrate the heroic fight people face against breast cancer. The match on that evening was dedicated to all the men and women who have been touched by breast cancer with the hopes that this disease will one day be cured.
Oak Forest High School supported the event in many ways. Players and coaches wore pink jerseys, the gyms were decorated with pink balloons and streamers and the concession stand sold pink goodies. There was an informational table set up with important literature on breast cancer prevention and ways to help breast cancer patients.

Fans filled out pink paper volleyballs to honor loved ones who are patients, survivors, or victims of breast cancer. Survivors were entered into a special raffle. All split-the-pot money was donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
The Lady Bengal Varsity Volleyball Team is coached by Head Coach Amanda Brown and assisted by Kristina Blair. The sophomore team is coached by Dana Curta, and the freshman team is coached by Pat Banach.
