Oak Forest HS Volleyball Teams Host 'Volley for the Cure'

Proceeds were donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation

The Oak Forest High School Volleyball Team: Ariel Torres, Josie Horan, Morgan Anderson, Ella Brown, Brittany Bourne, Angela Elias, Sabrina Baxa, Carly Andersen, Kelsey Kolecki, Bridgit Giblin, and Meghan O'Keefe, team up against cancer.

Recently the Girls’ Volleyball Team hosted their Annual “Volley for the Cure” night at Oak Forest High School during both the freshman/sophomore and varsity games. Oak Forest High School and their competitors, Tinley Park High School, teamed up to fight against breast cancer. “Volley for the Cure” was created as a way to for the OFHS volleyball team to honor and celebrate the heroic fight people face against breast cancer. The match on that evening was dedicated to all the men and women who have been touched by breast cancer, with the hopes that this disease will one day be cured. Oak Forest High School supported the event in many ways. Players and coaches wore matching pink t-shirts. The gym was decorated in pink to symbolize the fight against breast cancer. All split-the-pot money was donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation. The Lady Bengal Volleyball team is coached by Head Coach Cassie Gaines and assisted by Kristina Blair. The sophomore team is coached by Pat Banach, and the freshman team is coached by Jake Olson.
