Oak Forest HS Wins Big at All-State Band and Choral Contest

The Oak Forest High School Music Department participated in the Annual Illinois High School All-State Band and Choral Solo and Organizational Contest at Hinsdale South High School and took home many medals. Marley Majetic scored a perfect score and was named as the “Best Soloist of the Day”. Gold medals went to Nicole Borosak, Megan Toppen, Matt Casey, Kika Arias, Margaret Good, Audrey Cooper, Nathan McGovern, and Marley Majetic. The Silver Medalists were Amanda Beall, Casey Wolff, Tristan Edge, Zoe Hermanas, Jessica Velasquez, and Danielle Murawski. Amanda Beall, Nicole Borosak, Audrey Cooper, Emily Cooper, Tessa Damien, Camryn DuSold, Margaret Good, Madison Greenhill, Caroline Lilly, Marley Majetic, Danielle Murawski, and John Nieszel made the SSC All-Conference band. The OFHS Choral program, directed by Victor Pazik, also had many accomplishments at this contest. The IHSA Solo Gold Medalists were awarded to Alex Joritz, Brittney Hotstutler, Daniel Deane, Emily Cooper, Jianna Parel, John Paras, Kinsey Carrera, Mickenzie Alexander, and Tyler Pajic. IHSA Ensemble Gold Medalists were awarded to Margaret Good - 2 Division I's, Victoria Rice 2 Division I's, Emily Cooper - 3 Division I's, Mickenzie Alexander - 2 Division I's, Alex Joritz - 2 Division I's, Ema Kester - 2 Division I's, Jackie Griffin - 2 Division I's, Jill Moss, Megan Toppen, Nicole Borosak, Amelia Sorensen, Samantha Pellegrino, Danny Deane, Shane Bednarek, Billy Altier, Tessa Damien, Kinsey Carrera, Cassie Greenhill, Sherelyn Secada, Sarah Boblink, Kristina Bowers, Millie McMahon; Madrigals, Ladies in Waiting and Harmoni. IHSA Solo Silver Medals were awarded to Alyssa Ryan, Breanna Horvath, Breanna Jozaitis, Brianne Morrissey, Camille Glenn, Emily Marcheschi, Erica Hennessy, Gery Longino, Kristina Bowers, Magdalene Smith-Stephney, Meshona Hollingsworth, Rachel Fimbianti, Sherelyn Saceda, and Victoria Rice. IHSA Ensemble Silver Medals were awarded to Herb Sommer, Gery Longino, Mickenzie Alexander, Chris Dantis, Sarah Boblink, Rachel Fimbianti, Alex Joritz, Shane Bednarek, Tessa Damien, Emily Cooper, Jianna Parel, and Sherelyn Saceda. Margaret Good, Victoria Rice, Emily Cooper, Maeghan Schreiber, Alex Joritz, Shane Bednarek, Danny Deane, Adrienne Coachman, Mickenzie Alexander, John Paras were selected for the SSC All-Conference Choir.
