Oak Forest HS's 'Husky Project' is Live!
OFHS students are working with eighth graders to ease transition to high school

Students from Oak Forest High School are working with eighth graders at Hille Middle School to help ease the transition to high school next year. The project is named the Husky Project after Hille’s mascot, the husky.
At this first presentation, Oak Forest High School students talked about the faces that Hille students needed to know at the high school. These included the deans, the principals, the secretaries, and the counselors. Afterwards, Hille students asked a lot of questions. They wanted to know how big the lockers were, about the clubs and organizations of the school, and about various sports and sports camps.
Oak Forest HS students also talked about the high expectations that teachers had for students and the strict adherence they have for turning in homework on time. They discussed how some teachers post assignments online and also collect homework there as well. The OF students said that high school is definitely harder than middle school, but assured students that they would get used to it.
