Oak Forest HS's Kral Scores a Perfect 36 on ACT

Only about 1,000 students nationally get a perfect score each year on the test

Oak Forest High School is proud to announce that Senior Adam Kral scored a perfect 36 on his ACT test. 1.8 million students take the ACT test every year and only about 1,000 students get a perfect score. To compare, in 2014, the average score in Illinois was 20.7 while nationally, it is 20.3. Adam practiced for the ACT by completing the Princeton Review book and taking the review classes at OFHS. When he scored a 35 on the practice test during the review class, he felt he would probably do similar on the real test. Nailing a perfect score has boosted his college prospects immensely. Adam would like to attend Carleton College in Minnesota. Although he likes math and physics, he is not sure what he would like to study. “I’m not sure what I want to do. I feel like OF has prepared me well.” Adam’s teachers are happy that he did so well on the ACT. AP Physics teacher Steve Hogan said, “Adam has extremely strong reasoning skills for a high school level student, which is a rare but essential life skill. He does not merely memorize content and ideas presented to him, but thoughtfully can apply it to many different physical situations.” AP History teacher Jodie Hausken said, “It was a great joy to work with such a wonderful student, and I cannot wait to hear of his accomplishments in the future.”
