Oak Forest HS's Sinwelski Named Commended Student
Matt Sinwelski has been named a Commended Student by the National Merit Scholarship Program

Oak Forest High School Principal Dr. Brad Sikora, has announced that Senior Matt Sinwelski has been named a Commended Student in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. Sinwelski is one of about 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation who are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. “The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” a NMSC spokesperson. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.” Dr. Sikora said, “Matthew is a conscientious and diligent student, currently ranked 2nd in his graduating class of 346 students. Despite scoring a near perfect 35 on his ACT and challenging himself with a full slate of Advanced Placement courses, he has maintained his reputation as a humble leader.
