Oak Forest Police Dole Out 65 Citations During Holiday Traffic Enforcement
The next campaign will be held over St. Patrick's Day.

The results are in from the Oak Forest Police Department’s latest traffic enforcement campaign funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). From December 19 through January 4, police officers wrote 65 citations during the 50-hour campaign.
“Of the citations issued, the vast majority were issued for drivers and passengers failing to wear seatbelts,” said Deputy Chief Dominic D’Ambrosio. “The Christmas and New Year campaigns are the busiest time of the year for seatbelt enforcement.”
The holiday enforcement campaign was the second in a six-part program to promote traffic safety by establishing safety belt enforcement zones and conducting saturation patrols in pre-assigned areas. The next campaign will be conducted over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.
