Oak Forest Woman Fights Off Attacker, Police Searching for Suspect

The man tried to break into the woman's home, but she fought back by head-butting him, police said.

Oak Forest police are looking for a man who used the guise of a home repair contractor to attempt to break into an Oak Forest home.

A woman in the 15200 block of Lacrosse Avenue Monday called police around 9:30 a.m. after a confrontation with a man who pounded on her door and asked if she needed new windows. The woman declined, but the man refused to leave, then shoved his way into the entryway. He shoved the woman in the chest, knocking her backwards. The woman fought back by head-butting the suspect, who fled down the driveway clutching his nose.

The suspect is described as a white, approximately 25–35 years old, 5-foot-7 and 150–160 pounds. He has blue eyes, light brown or blonde eye brows, clean shaven with about two days’ growth. He was seen wearing a black skull cap and a black North Face jacket, darker jeans and newer tan-colored work boots.
