Oak Forest Won't Allow Employees To Work From Home

The City Council denied a measure that would allow staffers to work from home under some circumstances.

OAK FOREST, IL -- The Oak Forest City Council voted last week not to allow certain city workers to work from home. A 6-1 vote opposed a measure that would allow the city's 14 administrative staffers to work from home under certain conditions, according to a report from the Daily Southtown.

City Administrator Tony Ishler had asked the council to approve the measure as part of the first changes made to the city's personnel manual in nine years.

Most aldermen opposed the idea. "You should have to report to work," 5th Ward Alderman James Emmett said.
