Old Doors Get New Beginnings as Oak Forest Street Art
The "Opportunity Knocks" street art project debuts at Saturday's Farmers Market.

—via the City of Oak Forest
Opportunity Knocks is Oak Forest’s first public art project located at the Metra train station at 159th Street and Cicero Avenue. Doors from the vacant, city-owned apartment buildings on 157th Street have been mounted around the train station area and are ready for local artists to paint. Residents and visitors are invited to watch the artists as they transform the doors from trash to treasure. An unveiling and meet-and-greet with the artists will be held on Saturday, June 27 during the Oak Forest Farmers Market. The Farmers Market is held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Metra parking lot.
