The Palos Heights Farmers Market welcomes the Palos Heights Police Department on June 25th at 10 a.m. Officer Apostal will be distributing FREE bicycle helmets. Members of the Palos Heights Women's Club will be assisting in the proper fitting of children. Additional bicycle safety information will be available. Representatives from Richards Bicycles will also be on hand with information about bicycle maintenance and have new bicycles on display.
This week's guest of the Community Tent will be Chiro One, of 7202 W College Dr. Representatives of Chiro One will have information about their health, wellness and chiropractic practice.
Congratulations to Chris Walsh, of Palos Heights, winner of the June 18th "Novel Cooking" Library cookbook raffle. The next raffle will take place on July 2nd. Congratulations also to Devon Lyons, of Chicago Ridge, winner of the June 18th Palos Pool Pass Raffle. The next Pool Pass Raffle will take place on July 16th.
Information will be available at the City Tent for the upcoming distribution of Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) Coupons. Applications for the coupons will take place on July 2nd at the Worth Catholic Charities office, 7000 W. 111th Street from 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm. They are for seniors 60 years or older, and are income dependent. While at the City Tent,
make sure to pick up this week's recipe "Roasted Radishes", courtesy of Dr. John Principe MD of the WellbeingMD Center for Life. This and all previous recipes are available. Make sure to have your Frequent Shopper endorsed. Bring a friend and get double credit. Photo note cards, featuring beautiful Palos scenes, are on sale $4each, or 3/$10. Raffle tickets for the Classic Car Raffle are also available. They are $20 each, of 6/$100. The Classic Car Event will be held on Thursday July 17th on Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights.
