Palos Heights Farmers Market

The Palos Heights Farmers Market welcomes the Palos Heights Library and Recreation Departments on Wednesday July 16th. 

The Palos Heights Library will be hosting a "Hungry Bunnies" story hour at 10 a.m. Come hear the stories and do a craft. Additional library staff will be on hand with a "Novel Cookbook" raffle, and information about upcoming library events and the 70th Anniversary Celebration.

 The Palos Heights Recreation Department will also be a guest of the market. A Pool Pass Raffle, good for 6 visits to the Palos pool, will take place at 1 p.m. In addition, information about upcoming programs and the Little Learners Preschool program will be available. Rita Schultz will also have her beautiful "Daydreamer" Jewelry for sale. 
 
Thanks to all the rain, their is a large selection of farm fresh fruits and vegetables in the market. Come early for the best selection. In addition, eggs, butter, a large variety of cheeses, breads, bakery and desserts, local honey, jams and jellies, salsas and pasta sauces, beef, pork and chicken, hot and iced coffees and nutritional drinks, olive oils and vinegar, pizza products and pesto, tamales and more are available every week. Pampered Chef, Shaklee, and knive sharpening services are also available every week.
 
Stop by the City Tent and pick up this week's recipe courtesy of Dr. John Principe MD of the WellbeingMD Center for Life, "Portobello Mushroom and Bell Pepper Sloppy Joes". This and many previous week's recipes are always available. Make sure to have your Frequent Shopper Card endorsed. Ten visits enters you into a year end Market Raffle. Photo Note Cards, featuring Palos scenes, are for sale $4 each, or 3/$10. Proceeds benefit the market. Finally, this is the last market you can pick up Classic Car Raffle tickets. They sell $20 each, or 6/$100. The Classic Car Event will be held on Thursday July 17th, on Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights.
