Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony to be Held May 9

The Peace Officers Memorial Foundation of Cook County will hold its 14th Annual Memorial Ceremony at 11 a.m. May 9 at the Cermak Woods Forest Preserve, 7601 West Ogden Ave., Lyons.

The event honors law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in 2014, including James P. Morrissy of the Oak Forest Police Department and historical honorees, according to the foundation.

A silent motorcade will precede the ceremony. Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel will deliver the keynote speech at this memorial ceremony.
