Elderly Couple Robbed

An elderly couple living in the 15200 block of Arroyo Drive told police that they had been robbed of $16,000 cash by two men, one of whom, posing as a ComEd employee, shoved his way into the house demanding to check the fuse box. That man reportedly shoved the 92-year-old woman towards the basement, causing her to shove back and threaten to call police. He refused to show identification and eventually left the home after a second man suddenly went running out the front door.

A large amount of cash and a purse were reported missing from the couple’s master bedroom. One of the alleged robbers was described generically—approximately 6-feet tall, weighing 180 pounds—and was last seen taking off in a mid-2000s white pickup truck without a front license plate around 12:30 p.m.
