Private Services Planned for Erica Rodriguez

Family of homicide victim Erica Rodriguez will mourn her passing in a private service scheduled for Jan. 2.
The service is open to family only. A public memorial service will be held in the near future. The family asks that those wishing to pay their respects wait until the public memorial service.
Born Sept. 25, 1972 in Champaign, Erica was also formerly of Mahomet. She was a Registered Nurse for Advocate Hospice, caring for patients in the south Chicago suburbs. Erica's son Andrew described her as "the definition of an angel sent from above." Her daughter Sylvia called Erica her best friend.

Family remember her as a "a self-sacrificing person whose greatest joy in life was her children."
