Registration Now Open for Oak Forest Fleadh 5K

Registration for the 6th Annual CNB Oak Forest Fleadh 5K on Saturday, March 7 at 8:30 a.m. is open. The race, which starts and finishes at 159th Street and Cicero Avenue, is expected to attract more than 500 runners. Interested participants can register online at www.signmeup.com/104124 or download a registration form at www.oak-forest.org. The race registration fee is $25 (15 and younger), $30 (16 and older) and goes up to $35 (all ages) on race day.

After February 11, all participants will receive a short-sleeve, cotton shirt. All race participants are encouraged to bring at least one non-perishable food item to the race to benefit the St. Damian Food Pantry, which supports local families in need. In particular, the food pantry needs jelly, peanut butter, pasta sauce, and cereal.

After the race, participants can bike, play or blade a car-free Cicero Avenue and watch the Oak Forest Fleadh family parade at 11 a.m. The 7th Annual Pub and Restaurant Open House will begin at 5 p.m. For a list of participating venues, please visit www.oak-forest.org.
