Report: Illinois' students are falling behind
A new report has some troubling findings regarding the state of the state's public schools.

Illinois was once a leader in early childhood education, but those days are long gone as public preschool funding has been slashed, and K-12 students are struggling to meet the state’s testing and proficiency standards – largely because of Illinois’ financial crisis.
Those are among the findings of the new, biennial report “The State We’re In 2014: A Report Card on Public Education in Illinois” from the education reform group Advance Illinois.
While there has been slight improvement in some aspects since the group’s 2012 report, our infographic sums up the key findings and everything you need to know about the state of Illinois’ public schools.
