Forest Ridge School District 142 seeks input from the community on a tuition-based preschool to serve our district's residents.

Forest Ridge School District 142 seeks input from the community on a tuition-based preschool to serve our district’s residents.

In previous years, the Ridge Early Childhood Preschool program was grant-funded through the Preschool For All program through the Illinois State Board of Education. Although the district has applied for the grant for the upcoming school year, the funding is uncertain. Forest Ridge School District 142 is considering offering a half day (morning and afternoon session), 5-day per week, tuition-based preschool program for 3 and 4 year-old children.

The program, which will be located at the Ridge Early Childhood Center, will feature a developmentally appropriate curriculum delivered by licensed early childhood educators. Classrooms will be facilitated by one teacher, one teacher assistant, and other support staff as needed. Limited openings may be made available for 3 and 4 year-old children who reside in the Forest Ridge School District 142 school boundaries on a tuition basis.
