Robbins Mayor Injured Amid Shooting At Bar, Gunman Killed By Security: Authorities

Mayor Darren Bryant suffered a graze wound in the targeted shooting at Harold's Ice Bar in Robbins, according to reports.

ROBBINS, IL — A gunman who opened fire in a Robbins bar was fatally shot by security, after wounding two people including the town's mayor, according to authorities and ABC7 reports.

The incident unfolded late the night of Aug. 14 into Aug. 15 at Harold's Ice Bar, in the 13700 block of Claire Boulevard.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office said it was called to investigate a fatal shooting at the location. Detectives learned that a man with a gun entered the bar and began shooting, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.

That man, identified by authorities and the Cook County Medical Examiner as Marquelle Rose, 29, of Chicago, was then shot by a security guard, CBS reported.

Rose was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead at 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

A 29-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were also injured in the shooting, the sheriff's office said. Both were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 34-year-old man was later confirmed to be Robbins Mayor Darren Bryant, CBS reported. Bryant suffered a graze wound and was hospitalized for the minor injury, CBS said.

A second victim in the shooting was reportedly a DJ, ABC7 said.
