6-Year-Old Shot In Head At Park In Markham
Police said a 6-year-old was among two victims of a shooting at Roesner Park in Markham Saturday night.

MARKHAM, IL — A 6-year-old was among the victims of a Saturday night shooting at a park in Markham. Two victims, a 37-year-old man and the 6-year-old juvenile, were wounded in the shooting incident reported around 8:23 p.m. at Roesner Park, according to Markham Police Chief Mack Sanders.
The 6-year-old, whose gender was not released by police, suffered a graze wound to the head, Sanders said. The child was released from an area hospital on Sunday.
The 37-year-old was shot in the leg. His condition is unknown as of early Monday afternoon.

"We are in the process of trying to pull video surveillance from the area," said Sanders, who added that before the incident, Saturday was "a calm evening with multiple family barbecues."
Roesner Park is located on the east side of Markham just west on the I-294 Expressway. The shooting incident took place near 160th Street and Richmond Avenue, Sanders said.
