Scholarships Awarded to Four District 228 Fine Arts Students

The Eleanor C. Ferraro Scholarship has been recognizing and supporting fine arts students since 2004

Four scholarships were recently awarded to District 228 graduates in the fine arts. The recipients of the Eleanor C. Ferraro Scholarship Fund were: Ella Lindokken, for Music - Tinley Park High School; Cassandra Sheridan, for Art - Tinley Park High School; Georgina Ellis, for Art and Music - Bremen High School; Alex Joritz, for Drama/Choral/Music - Oak Forest High School.

The Eleanor C. Ferraro Scholarship Fund has been recognizing and supporting fine arts students since 2004. Eleanor Ferraro had served as a school board member for 11 years and was a huge supporter of the fine arts during her tenure on the board. After Eleanor passed away, her family decided to honor their mother with a scholarship in her name.

The Ferraro family sponsored two events to fund the scholarship this year. The 2nd Annual Prom Dress sale where students could purchase prom dresses for $25 and a Blackhawks Playoff ticket raffle. You can support the fine arts and donate to the Eleanor C. Ferraro Scholarship Fund by contacting Jean Ferraro Bartecki at 708-388-4560.
