Six Oak Forest HS BPA Students Qualify for National Competition
BPA students brought home 13 medals, had 10 state finalists, and qualified 6 students for National Competition at the BPA State Competition

Oak Forest High School Business Professionals of America Sponsor Connie McSweeney announced that Oak Forest High School BPA students brought home 13 medals, had 10 state finalists, and qualified 6 students for National Competition at the BPA State Competition that was held March 1-3 in OakBrook.
Standout performances at the State Competition were Brianna Mitchell, who placed 1st in Advanced Word Processing, and Valerie Perz, who placed 1st in Basic Office Systems & Procedures.
In addition, Taylor Ferralez, Bridget Golk, Hannah McMaster, Brianna Mitchell, Rafeh Motan, Magdalene Smith-Stephney, and Taylor Valuch all received the Statesman Torch Award for dedication and service to their school and community. This is an amazing accomplishment and it is a credit to the BPA program that there are so many students that received this award.

Individually, BPA students did a terrific job at the state competition. Kaitlyn Alejandro placed 6th in Basic Office Systems & Procedures, Nicole Boudos placed 3rd in Fundamental Word Processing, and Peyton Giuseffi placed 8th in Intermediate Word Processing. Sara Matthews placed 6th in Advanced Office Systems & Procedures, Hannah McMaster placed 3rd in Advanced Office Systems & Procedures,and 2nd in Advanced Word Processing. Brianna Mitchell placed 5th in Advanced Office Systems & Procedures. Valerie Perz placed 7th in Intermediate Word Processing. Marie Sander placed 7th in Fundamental Word Processing, Taylor Valuch placed 4th in Fundamental Word Processing, and Hannah Zarembski placed 7th in Fundamental Spreadsheet.
National Qualifiers are: Hannah McMaster, Taylor Valuch, Nicole Boudos, Kaitlyn Alejandro, Valerie Perz, and Brianna Mitchell. These students will be competing at the BPA National Competition in Dallas, TX on May 9-13.
