Campnell said, “Hockey has taught me character and how to work with a variety of people. It takes a lot of hard work and endurance and makes you more mature and focused. I have met some great friends on the team. Most of my friends complain about their sports practices but I love them. If I have a bad day, being on the ice makes it all melt away.”
The team’s two pivotal games were their final two: the semifinal game and the final game. The semi-final was against the Liden Eagles. According to Campnell, “That game was a real battle!”
The Cobras went into overtime against the Liden Eagles and then into a shootout which they won. Campnell credits the goal with some terrific saves in that game.
The final game was in Kankakee against the Irish. The score was back and forth but a lot of fans from Oak Forest made the team want to work hard. Campnell had a great trick shot when someone scored a goal off of one of his knees.
Campnell said, “Mostly my experience in hockey has taught me that if you want something, you have to work hard for it.“
