South Suburban College Celebrates 90-Year Anniversary

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–South Suburban College, once known as Thornton Community College and Thornton Jr. College, is celebrating a special anniversary this year. In 1927, a small group of high school graduates gathered at Thornton Township High School on 151st street in Harvey. They were the start of what is now a 90-year legacy of educational opportunity for residents of the south suburban region.

South Suburban College continues to grow with the changing cultural, technological and educational needs of the 21st century. Throughout our many years of service, thousands of people have received their education and gone on to improve their lives and their community. We at SSC are proud of our legacy of quality, convenience and affordability.
