Spot Yourselves in Patch's Oak Forest Fleadh Gallery
Thousands lined Cicero Avenue for the Fleadh fun Saturday, March 5.
Were you at the Oak Forest Fleadh celebration on Saturday? Maybe we saw you.
The event, in its seventh year, is jointly sponsored by the Oak Forest-Crestwood Chamber of Commerce and city of Oak Forest. Thousands flocked to Cicero Avenue for a day of celebrating all things green and Irish.
The day kicked off with more than 400 runners participating in the 5K race, chipping in donations of non-perishable food items for the St. Damian food pantry. A parade with about 70 entries followed, with Cicero Avenue shut down from 151st to 159th. Kids took to the empty, usually bustling street to ride bikes and play, with adults even getting in on the fun. The festivities also included a restaurant and pub crawl that featured nine local establishments and lasted until 3 a.m.
