Stop Sign Desires in Oak Forest
Oak Forest residents speak on about what intersections need stop signs and where the speed limit should be lowered.

OAK FOREST, IL - A nationwide Patch Facebook question about which roads in towns should have more stop signs and lowered speed limits, no state provided more feedback than Illinois. And in Illinois, no city provided more feedback than Oak Forest.
The question "TELL US: What roads in town could use a lower speed limit or stop sign?" elicited more than a dozen responses. And they were all across the board.

The most popular comment was a suggestion to add a stop sign at the southbound corner of La Palm and Massasoit.
"Kids are always playing and people whip around the corner," Cori wrote. "A yield sign was put there, but it is always ignored."

Mike suggested a stop sign for westbound traffic at 151st Street and Kenton Avenue.
"It's a four way intersection but only a three way stop," he wrote. "I've almost gotten t-boned several times by cars flying up 151st."
Charlotte offered the idea for speed bumps on Ridgeland Ave. between 151st and 159th streets.
"I swear people think Ridgeland is an part of the 'Brickyard'...that and all the booming music at 2 a.m.!"
Other suggestions included 147th Street and Justamere/Oak Park and Forestview Drive between Oak Park and Pine.
Much debate was had about the speed limit on Central Avenue. Interestingly, some thought it should be higher and others thought it should be lower.
