On Saturday June 28, 2014, Thunder over Midlothian will offer
a full day of activities that will entertain the entire family all day long. This year’s event will offer many exciting new
changes including a parade, food festival, beer garden, games and the band
HAZARD in addition to the annual firework display that everyone loves.
The
event will kick off with the Veteran’s parade at 3:00 pm. The parade will step off from First Midwest Bank on 147th and Hamlin and moves
East down 147th to Homan Ave. It will then turn North on Homan and proceed down
to Memorial Park. If you would
like to be in the parade, you can get an application on the Midlothian Park
District website under Thunder Over Midlothian.
When the parade arrives at Memorial Park you will find the Midlothian
Food Festival where
you can eat some of Midlothian's tastiest
treats with no portion priced over $3.00! Patrons will also find a Beer Garden
open in Minas Field.

Throughout the day there will be a variety of events for
everyone to enjoy; 4:00-7:00 there will various games for children of all ages
including picnic type games, a basketball free throw contest, and a bean bag
tournament to name a few. At 5:00 there
will be the Village vs. Park District Softball game, 6:00-9:00 Hazard will be
performing all of your favorite songs from the 90’s & 00’s and the night
will conclude with the Fireworks display at 9:30 pm.
