Tinley Park HS Celebrates World Language Week
The theme was "Languages lead us on a path to understanding other cultures"
Students at Tinley Park High School celebrated National Foreign Language Week March 4th to March 10th led by their World Language teachers Ms. Gloria Varlotta, Mrs. Selime Baftiri-Ballazhi, Mrs. Kathy King-Waters, and Ms. Suzanne Lappe. AP Spanish students prepared banners to decorate our hallways based on the theme "Languages lead us on a path to understanding other cultures." Each morning the student body was greeted in a different language over the school’s intercom system. The pre-school children in Mrs. Ashley Meyer's class were read stories in Spanish and French. Students in Ms. Baftiri-Ballazhi’s Honors French 3 went downtown on a Francophone art and cuisine excursion. Students in all world language classes celebrated the week by attaching a colorful sheet of paper to their lockers that explained which World Language classes they were currently taking. The week was un gran exito!
