Tinley Park HS Hosts Special Scholastic Bowl

On Wednesday, December 14, there was a heated Staff vs Students Scholastic Bowl Competition at Tinley Park High School. Mr. Barcena, Ms. Grady, Mr. Rucinski, Mrs. Bumphis, Mr. Birrell, Mrs. Lorden, Mr. Weber, and Mr. Uniek represented the staff very well. Sophomore Jaydeep Pillai was a proud member of the student team. He said, “The competition was very fun. The staff team dominated us with a late entrance from Mr. Uniek. We played 16 rounds of questions with categories ranging from fine arts to science.
We were beaten by about 100 points, but it was very fun and we all had a blast.” Both sides walked away from the event with smiles, telling Ms. Janna Canning (head coach) and Mr. Mark Reiss (JV Coach) that they really enjoyed the event. Many of the teachers expressed how impressed they were the students and The Scholastic Bowl team gained a few new members because of this event.
